Sharing What We Have Learned

A vital part of our community service is sharing our knowledge with parents, teachers and other caregivers. Autism ETC offers free bi-monthly parent training workshops to teach families how to apply behavioral techniques to support their child in the home and in the community. These workshops show caregivers best practice tips and techniques to use when they are without the support from their therapist.

What To Expect In Our Workshops

Our workshops provide practical strategies on a variety of topics that families can put into place on their own as well as deepen their understanding of ABA concepts. Examples of topics include: determining functions of behavior, preventing problem behavior, supporting language, feeding selectivity, and play skill development.

We also offer free respite care; in which workshop attendees can bring their children for enriched play activities under the supervision of our Registered Behavior Technicians.

Our goal is to prepare children with autism to enter the school system for the first time or to equip children for whom school was not a good fit with the necessary skills to return to the typical school environment. We strive to help each child realize their fullest potential.
